need Super admin access

  I have access to my site website but couldn’t install codes. It looks like I have only Admin access and not a Super admin access. can I gain super admin access for the site or should i transfer my file to my new wordpress account.

  Site: (email visible only to moderators and staff).
  WP.com: Yes
  Correct account: Yes

  Hello there,

  What are you trying to install exactly?

  The reason why I ask is because, it is possible to do this, but in order to do so – the site would need to be on the business plan.

  Hey aleone89,

  So I was trying to install Google tracking code and Google recaptcha and getting error massages. I don’t have a plan and the website developer must have built it on a WordPress multisite under his plan. So if I get a business plan does WordPress offers Suport to transfer my files?

  Ok, your site is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted with Hostgator.

  To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/

  WordPress.org has complete documentation for self-hosted/installed versions of WordPress.org at https://wordpress.org/support/ and support at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

  With that said, the site’s current Super Admin can promote you from the Users section of the site’s Dashboard: https://wordpress.org/support/article/roles-and-capabilities/

  Thanks for clearing that up. I have tried to contact the developer and had no luck. Also I wonder if they can change my user role to a lower level in the future. Any suggestion? Thanks.

  We’re bummed you can’t get through to the developer yet. We recommend you continue trying. We’re not able to speak on your question about changing your role in the future because none of our tools work on your site to know, unfortunately. Your best bet will be the developer. Good luck.
