need the blog address to Facebook posts and shares
-
Thanks for looking.
I think I did not use Publicize yesterday. I used classic. This may not even be applicable to our conversation.
I had to delete the FB transfer and wrote about it manually. As for the picture, there is a picture at the top of my blog page. So that I’m clear, are you saying I need to insert another picture beside my post?
What do I need to change so the transfer will show my post page and not the welcome page?
Thanks, Judy.

The photo that is at the top of your most recent post is not counted as being a post photo. That is your site’s header and will not be pushed out by Publicize.

For now, I would if you want to keep trying to use Publicize. The New editor is continuing to improve but I think there may still be some issues with the Publicize feature. Soon though!

Hi again,
Now someone has said I need to be using a Facebook auto publishing plug-in. There is such on the WordPress site that says to download version 1.12.
Thanks , Judy, -
Someone said that I might need to use a Facebook auto publishing
plug-in? There’s one on your site that says to download version 1.12Thank you – Judy.

Do I need to use a FaceBook plug-in? I tried three times to have it auto transfer to FaceBook and then when it worked, content was in two sections with the same wording. I edited the post by deleting all the words in the first section and added the blog site.
Please assist me.

Hi Judy,
We don’t allow plug-ins at WordPress.com as they are a security risk. Plugins are available only through self-hosted WordPress.org sites. If you’d like to explore moving your site over to a self-hosted one, I can give you some information, but it can be a complicated process and it’s important to know that there is no support available whatsoever.
In regard to your most recent post, I just went to Facebook and took a look at what it would have looked like if I had posted it, and this is what I saw:
Is this not what came up for you? This is the exact correct thing for a post. It has a preview image from your post, it has the title, and it has an excerpt from your post. Sometimes upon posting Facebook will re-arrange things and put a larger version of the image in the middle instead of side-by-side, however this is still how they always preview the post.

Thank you looking and sending a correct view. That was not at all. No, not at all. However can I get this right? Will you send me the exact steps to post and then transfer — not the links to do so please.
Exactly from which page am I to create a new post? There are several options — on my blog page: new post on the right, new post under the world icon and new post under the W. Does that matter?

As I mentioned, migrating your site from WordPress.com to WordPress.org can be a little complicated. We have entire pages which walk you through this process which we have spent some considerable time and effort to make as clear as possible (including taking screenshots). I cannot reduce this information down to a step by step process for you here with any clarity, I’m afraid.
With that said, here is the link to the help article that can walk you through it:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#moving-to-wordpress-org
Please take note to that box at the top of the article that we do offer Guided Transfers for a fee, wherein we will transfer your site for you. That may be something which you are interested in.
In regards to where you should be posting, that is up to you. As we have discussed, there has been a new editor which has rolled out recently. It has some bugs in it currently which are being corrected every day. It’s important to note that none of the bugs would have anything to do with what displays on Facebook when you copy/paste your post link to on to Facebook after you have hit “Publish”. However if you want to be sure that you are working on our most stable editor, you would want to do so by going to your Dashboard and then to All Posts and then to Add New.

If you would like to share what your posts are looking like when you first post them to Facebook, you can take a screenshot of them and uploading it to your Media Library. I can see it there.
If you’re not familiar with how to take a screenshot, we have instructions right here:
-
” when you copy/paste your post link to on to Facebook after you have hit “Publish”. I never copy and paste anywhere after I hit Publish??
I do not want to pay for this.
So that you may see what it does, later on today I will delete the post on Facebook, resend it to FB, take a snapshot and send to you.
