Need the EPP Authorization Code
-
My account was frozen by ICANN. I need the EPP Authorization code to get it unlocked.
WP.com: Yes
Correct account: Unknown -
Hi there,
What is the domain you need help with? The account you’re using to post here doesn’t own any domains registered with us.
It’s also not really clear what you’re trying to do. An EPP code for a domain has only one function – it’s used to transfer a domain from one domain provider to another. An EPP code cannot be used to unlock a domain, and it won’t help you if your domain is perhaps suspended, as it sounds might be the case here.
If your domain is suspended by ICANN, it’s because the domain contact information you provided to your registrar when registering the domain wasn’t verified. In that case the only way to lift the suspension is to verify the contact information. In fact, until you verify the contact information and get the suspension lifted, you won’t even be able to request an EPP code at all.
This can only be done at the domain provider where you registered your domain. That domain provider is also the only place where you can unlock a domain for transfer, or request a EPP code. So please contact that domain provider directly for help with this.

According to support at WordPress my domain provider is Automattic. They also say my domain has been deactivated since 2018, which seems hard to believe. They gave me a new password but I still need a verification link to unsuspend my account from ICANN. The domain is brucepollockthewriter.com

brucepollockthewriter.com belongs to a different account here, not the one you’re currently logged in under.
If you do not recall the password for the correct account, we have some options for you at https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/
If you reply here from the account which owns the domain, we’ll be able to assist further.

The email for the account is

The password is[redacted by staff]I hope this helps

Hi @thejoyofsegues,
Please don’t ever share your login credentials in a public forum. As a precaution, please login to the WordPress.com account and reset your password. Here’s how: https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/#password-reset-process
With regards to the
brucepollockthewriter.comdomain, I have resent the verification email to the email address associated with the WordPress.com account that owns the domain — please check your email address(es) for that. -
If you sent it to (email visible only to moderators and staff), I didn’t get it. Please resend.

On the other hand, if you sent it to (email visible only to moderators and staff), that account is no longer active. The email and the password was changed yesterday at Bluehost.

Hi @thejoyofsegues that is not an email address that is registered in our system, so you may want to check any others that you have access to.
In the event you are not able to locate the email, unfortunately we are not able to help further in the support forums, as verifying account ownership requires us to ask you to provide info that is best not shared in this public venue.
The good news though is that you can fill out the form at this link to get private assistance from our Account Recovery team: https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=recovery
Because you purchased the custom domain brucepollockthewriter.com you should have a record of this transaction that you can locate. On the account recovery form you will be asked to provide a transaction ID for any purchases you have made, which you can typically find on your credit card statement, and greatly speed up our ability to help you regain access.
More info on how to find that here: https://wordpress.com/support/billing-history/#retrieving-a-transaction-id
Hope this helps point you in the right direction!

We can only send the verification email to the email address on the account.
Please understand this is a security issue, and as far as we know, you’re not someone related to the owner of the domain name in any way.
The email address on the account which owns the domain name is the netzero email address.
If you do not recall the password for that account here, we have some options for you at https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/
-
The email was changed by Bluehost to (email visible only to moderators and staff) and my password was changed as well. The net zero email has been closed for three years. I am not prepared to lose all the work I put into this website

If you no longer have access to the correct account’s email address, we have additional options for you at https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/#account-recovery-form
-
-
The only forms of identity we can accept are listed at https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/#account-recovery-form
Once of those is the transaction ID from the purchase of the domain and all of its renewals.
You can find the transaction ID by following the steps at https://wordpress.com/support/billing-history/#retrieving-a-transaction-id
