I want to develop a page which does not have any graphics — no illustration, no photos. Just my text will appear. How can I do this? Is there a theme for this or can I customize a theme top do this?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi –
You do not need to use any media at all on your site. It’s totally customized to what you want.
That said, you may be interested in these:

I have set up the page on Scrawl. However, it is using a blog format — not a website. Also, in the description it says that the site is “slef-hosted.” What does this mean? In the prview, the top of the page says “Title” and “Menu.” How do I remove these words? I want the site to appear starting with the title and text that I have inserted. I want this page to link to another page, whch will link to two more pages. How can I do this?
Thanks -
Good Morning –
What is your site address?
There’s 2 versions of WordPress. What we do here at WordPress.com is a bit different from using the WordPress installation with a hosting company (self hosted). This guide outlines those differences: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

I need a site — not a blog. I have paid the $3 per month fee. Is your service 24/7?

Please understand that you cannot start from scratch and create your own theme here at wordpress.com. If you think you can do that then you are confusing wordpress.COM hosted sites like yours and wordpress.ORG software installs on paid hosting.
The only themes we can use on WordPress.com hosted blogs are licensed and adapted to run on our multiuser software the themes are found here http://wordpress.com/themes/ and in your dashboard at > Appearance > Themes
We cannot:
upload any third party themes,
create child themes,
create our own themes,
edit templates,
create own own layouts,
or use stylesheets from other themes. There is no FTP access to any wordpress.com sites. See:
Themes »Uploading Custom Themes
http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/adding-new-themes/P.S. Also be keenly aware that you cannot transfer any theme from https://wordpress.com/themes/ which is licensed and adapted to run on WordPress.COM software to a WordPress.ORG site, and visa versa. The two run on different software and have different versions of themes with the same names. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
See Moving to Self-Hosted WordPress https://move.wordpress.com
The wordpress.ORG support forum link is http://wordpress.org/support/ The wordpress.ORG login link is here https://login.wordpress.org/ If you do not have an account yet then click Create an account https://login.wordpress.org/register/ and if you have lost an account password click Lost password? https://login.wordpress.org/lostpassword/

Please understand also that blog is a website. The difference between blog and website is simply structure and semantics.
A blog is a post based website designed for interactive communication. As the posts are frequently updated and appear on the front page of the site it’s very attractive to search engines.
What most people call a website is merely a page based site that functions as a one-way noticeboard. As the structure is page based and as pages are for static content that rarely changes, and as pages do not have RSS feeds, and as others do not backlink to pages, it is not as attractive to search engines as a post based blog structured site is.
Any WordPress blog can be restructured from being post based to being page based – no upgrade required. For greater clarity read > http://en.support.wordpress.com/using-wordpress-to-create-a-website/

https://protestprotection.wordpress.com/ can be set up as either a website or a blog. A blog is just a type of website as timethief has mentioned. It’s currently using the Twenty Sixteen theme.
Blogs are typically updated via posts by a single voice or author on a regular basis. While websites tend to be built on pages with more static or unchanging information displayed. Any theme can do either.
