Need to activate account, verify email, change user name

  Nothing has been worse that working with WordPress.com. It all started when my websites stopped being accessed so my iOS app wouldn’t work to post to site, and so it goes, here we are with a brand new account to try to get some action but now stuck with an old account that is so distorted that I just abandoned it, and now a new account that won’t send me a confirmation email.

  Oh, and I got stuck with a ridiculous user name so I’d like to change that too, or just change my email address so I can abandon yet another WordPress profile and start anew. Grief. Gimme some help here.

  As far as confirmation email is concerned, suggest you check your Spam/ Junk folder. If you are using Gmail and have tabs (e.g. Social, Promotion etc) on, check all tabs. Additionally, in the case of Gmail see the troubleshooting guide at https://en.support.wordpress.com/email-notifications/gmail-issues/ page.

  If you are not using a generic email address (i.e. Yahoo! or Gmail) check with your service provider if emails from WordPress.com are blocked or try using a generic email address?

  https://colonymedia.us/ is a self-hosted WordPress.org site. You need to add JetPack plugin to your site and connect it a WordPress.com account to be able to use WordPress app to write posts on your site.
