Need to Add STORE to my site

  • Unknown's avatar

Hello, I have purchased my domain http://www.realamericancowboymagazine.com from you. I have built my website on Weebly.com. I need you to point my domain to the following IP: 199.34.228.48

This is done by changing my domain’s A-Records. I am not requesting that you transfer my domain, redirect my domain, or change my name servers. I want to remain with you as my domain registrar. For more detailed information, please see http://kb.weebly.com/domain-registrar.html.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

How the hell do I get an email to WordPress Support?

There is no phone support here. All support docs are at http://support.wordpress.com
Type help getting support into the searchbox and click
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/?s=help+getting+support
    Results https://en.support.wordpress.com/help-support-options/

In addition to support options linked to above we can email Staff using
    help@wordpress.com
    or
    support@wordpress.com

However, as this thread is tagged for Staff emailing them makes no sense now.

    Hi there,

I pointed your domain realamericancowboymagazine.com to the IP address 199.34.228.48, as requested, using the steps in our guide to Move a Domain Using Custom A Records. Please let me know if I can do anything more to help with that. :)

    Hi Rachel,

This is obviously Weebly’s “deal” and I apologize to the team – I have a Facebook Page with 370,000 LIKES pushing traffic to our blog, which we’ve had for years and is very popular.

So, we decide to put up a store – hence Weebly, hence mistake.

Right now, when people click to http://www.RealAmericanCowboyMagazine.com what they get is a PAGE NOT FOUND message. I don’t know how that could be but that’s the deal.

I am going to begin losing ad revenue in hours – I need to get my site working like it was before and I need your help getting this done. I have loudly told Weebly I want them out of my life and maybe they’re going to do something – but, WordPress is who I need help from.

Please let me know what can be done, you have my full authority to do whatever you need, just need http://www.RealAmericanCowboyMagazine.com to show up again and I really need it immediately.

    Thanks,

    Charlie Nicks

Got the email below from these Weebly people, I need to get my website back up and online, I REALLY NEED SOME HELP HERE I AM LOSING ADVERTISERS!

    Hi Charlie,

I’m sorry for any confusion but I’m having a little bit of trouble understanding what you’re saying. Someone with access to your domain control panel changed your DNS records to point to our servers. No one here has access to your domain so that’s not something we could have possibly done and it’s not something we have any power to undo. You’d need to go into your domain control panel and update the DNS to point to whatever web host you want to use.

I do see that you (or someone using your e-mail address) created a Weebly account over the weekend and at one point, the address on that site was http://www.realamericancowboymagazine.com. That account was deleted yesterday.

Even if you were not the one who created that Weebly account and website, no one could have actually published the website without your DNS records being changed to point to here. So I could create a Weebly website for walmart.com or amazon.com or any other address, but if I don’t actually own that domain and point it to Weebly’s servers, no one will ever see the site. It will never be put on the web. The same is true for any website builder/host. I can create a WordPress site for weebly.com or walmart.com or amazon.com but if I don’t own the domain and point the domain to my WordPress site, it will never actually go up on the web.

Whoever created this Weebly account using your e-mail address also had access to your account at your DNS host and pointed the A-records here.

I’ve searched our help system and don’t see any record of anybody contacting us regarding this domain but even if they had, all anybody on our end could do would be to tell them what A-records we use. Nobody here would have any way of actually pointing the domain here because that would require access to your account with your DNS host.

At this point, to get your website back online, you need to contact your DNS host (probably the company you purchased the domain from) and have them update the DNS records to point to whatever host you actually use. If you’re sure that you didn’t make the change to point the domain to Weebly, you should also update all of your passwords and let your registrar know that someone is messing with you and they should be extra careful about any requests regarding your account.

Again, I do understand your frustration and I sincerely apologize that you’re having to deal with this, but I want to be perfectly clear that someone pointed your domain to our servers. That is not something anyone here did or would be able to do. That was done through whatever company hosts your DNS records.

    Thank you!

Hi- I removed Weebly from my A Domain List. It is showing everything good but when I click on my site, http://www.RealAmericanCowboyMagazine.com I am still getting “Page Does Not Exist” message.

    Can you help with this?

All I am trying to do is get this site directed to and opening under http://www.realamericancowboymagazine.com.

And I KNOW YOU GUYS CAN DO THAT!

Not sure if you did it or I did it (which is doubtful) but EVERYTHING IS FINE. Sorry for the panic episode. :-)
