Need to Archive Expired Posts
-
I have a website which lists deals that expire. Each deal has a custom field with an expiration date. I’m looking to somehow archive the posts when they expire, yet still have them available if you access the link to the deal (since i don’t lose SEO impact). I also would like to have them disappear from the category they are held in.
I tried some code in which i was able to have the expiring posts disappear and archived on the home page loop, but the listing still remained in the category the deal is posted in. Anyone know how to do this?

Sorry, if you are messing with the home page loop, you are in the wrong forum and need to head over to http://wordpress.ORG/support/ as that is where self-hosted wordpress blogs using the software from wordpress.ORG are supported.
These forums are for those hosted here on the wordpress.COM free hosting service and things here work differently and our answers typically will not work for you.
If you do not know the difference, see this support document: http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ .

You seem to be talking about a self-hosted blog / site using software from wordpress.ORG
wordpress.COM is built on a different platform so our answers would not necessarily apply to you.Ask your question here:
