Need to build before I can transfer domain

  We have a website on WIX, will need to build website on WordPress before we can go live. Is there a temporary domain I can use before we transfer our site and go live?

  There is! Each site on our servers has a free .wordpress.com or .home.blog type subdomain, and you’re welcome to use that while you get your site ready.

  I do recommend getting a plan earlier on, since they have other features you might find useful, including direct support:
  https://wordpress.com/plans

  Then just avoid using the domain options until you’re ready, and then you can map or transfer the domain.
