Need to CANCEL DOMAIN name.

Hello. Yesterday I purchased a new domain for my website called “illusionprospect.com”. I set is as my primary domain. When I visit the website I get this message.
“Uh oh! Your blog’s domain nightofsolitude.com expired 46 days ago!
The domain nightofsolitude.com was last renewed on March 30, 2014. It is configured to redirect traffic to the web address illusionprospect.com.However, this domain name expired on Monday, March 30, 2015. It needs to be renewed every year to stay active or otherwise it will be lost. Please ask support to renew nightofsolitude.com before it’s too late:”
Then when I click on the “cancel this domain” button it takes me to the dashboard with a message that says “You cannot cancel this domain because it was not registered with WordPress.com. Please contact support.”
So here I am contacting support. I kindly request that this domain be cancelled because this is a concern. Thank you.

So basically I am requesting to have “nightofsolitude.com” canceled and I will be keeping and using “illusionprospect.com” instead.

I also just noticed that I am not able to preview any of my pages while editing them without the message displaying. Hope this can be resolved quickly please. Thank you.

Actually, now that I think of it. Is the option to renew “nightofsolitude.com” still feasible? I can make a credit card payment for Friday May 29, 2015 to renew it. If its not an option, no worries. Thank you.

I reviewed the information for nightofsolitude.com and because it expired so long ago (46 days), it is now in redemption. There is an additional $80 fee to remove a domain from redemption that is only offered to the current owner. The alternative is to give up ownership of the domain now and then try to register it again after it completely expires—the entire process takes about 80 days from the March 30 expiration date and then domain would be released back to the public. There is no guarantee you would get it back if you let it expire, but if you did and you could get it, you could buy it for the regular price.
Would you like to renew nightofsolitude.com for the additional fee or would you like to let it expire?

I would like to let it expire. So basically am I not able to preview any of my pages until the 80 day mark?? I purchased a new domain name so when people visit my site they’ll get this message. Is there a way for you guys to remove that message and allow my site to function?

I need to have this site viewable ASAP. So if it is possible to cancel the domain that would be great. I’ll just keep “illusionprospect.com”. But I need to preview my pages while editing them, I am not able to do that without this message displaying.

Ohh, so I am going to have to just wait until it expires, but if I wanted to cancel it from redemption it would be an $80 fee.. I see now. Thank you for your assistance. I guess I will have to just be patient and wait then.

I will most likely try to repurchase the domain for the original price once the 80 day mark arrives. Thank you guys so much for your help. I’ll just have to wait until then before I do any editing on the website.

Just to clarify, we can cancel the domain from your account. That would allow your site to be up and running immediately (visitors would be able to visit illusionprospect.com). Can you confirm that you would like me to cancel nightofsolitude.com? The domain would still proceed through the normal expiration process.

We can’t guarantee that it will fall exactly on the 80 day mark. However, 80 days from the expiration date of your domain would be June 18th. The domain will become available around that timeframe unless someone else purchases it first!

Hey! I need the eact same help. I used “dirtrider.co.il” but did not renewed it. Now, someone else owns it and directs it to another site. I want my new domain “dirtbike.co.il” will direct to my siteblog but I get the same message. Please help me cancel and delete the old domain “dirtrider.co.il” from my blog. Thanks, Tomer
