Need to cancel or renew expired domain but a bot took it…or something
-
I wasn’t able to afford renewing my blog fluenceysfolly.com in time before it was evidently taken by someone else (but really I swear, it looks more like an SEO tool).
I purchased fluencysfolly.net, and fluencysfolly.org today to hopefully set myself up to avoid this problem again. Ideally I’d love my original domain back, but I don’t have extra funds to sink in that process.
I am getting the following message now when I try to see either of the new domains:
“Your blog’s domain fluencysfolly.com stopped functioning on Monday, June 29, 2015 and visitors who come to the web address fluencysfolly.com cannot find your site any more. Please note the primary domain fluencysfolly.net as well as domain fluencysfolly.org that is pointing to this blog are also deactivated until fluencysfolly.com is either renewed or canceled.”
Obviously, I can’t take either of the actions since the domain appears to be used by another entity now.
Again, ideally I could claim all three suffixes. Please advise.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello,
From your Dashboard go to Store > My Upgrades. Next to the domain, click the “cancel” link to remove the expired domain mapping.fluenceysfolly.com was showing up for me as being available to register.

This is so frustrating. It isn’t giving me these options on my end. When I select “edit” (the only option button available), I get routed to adding an email address…? Very bizarre.
I searched under the straight “add a domain” option and it says “fluencysfolly.com” is being mapped currently to a blog. Ya, mine…and some fake ugg bot.

oh, also, THANK YOU so ,such for the help! I see now I had a typo (sigh, of course) in my original post. The domain I’m struggling with is fluencysfolly.com I’d put and extra “e” by accident.

Ah, I see. Sorry to have gotten your hopes up on registering the domain. I’ve tagged this thread for a staff member to assist with removing the domain mapping.

Yes, you are correct. fluencysfolly.com was registered through WordPress.com, it expired, and as part of the expiration process was lost at a domain auction:
Having been there myself, I know how frustrating this can be. However, what you are doing (purchasing new domains) is just about the only thing that can be done. You can contact the new owner and see if they are interested in selling the domain to you. But if they really are a domain squatter, that may end up being an expensive proposition.

Hi, so thank you, but this doesn’t help me at all. I am not even that interested at this point in getting back the original domain, but I purchased two alternatives and it’s totally useless because I get the error message (as noted in my original post).
So now I have three sites that are totally useless…this is extremely frustrating and I’m about ready to just ask for a refund and move on. Which is terribly disappointing.

I do not see that error message when I visit fluencysfolly.net, fluencysfolly.org, or http://annabellewinters.wordpress.com/
