Need to change domain name
-
hi there,
I am looking to change http://www.naturetraveltales.com to http://www.nature-traveler.com. Is that possible? Or do I have to register the new domain and re-direct? If I do so, how can I redirect all the links from the old site?
Thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

You can always add a new domain to your site here:
https://wordpress.com/domains/register/
Also, if you no longer require naturetraveltales.com, I can cancel it for you. If you leave it as is, it will simply redirect traffic to the new domain you add to your site.
Let us know if you have any more questions.

hi,
Thanks… but how will the new site re-direct to the old site? Especially all the links to my posts? Thanks.

There is actually only one site, naturetravelwriterdotcom.wordpress.com, and that is where your content is hosted. Everything else is just a domain name.
For more information about the differences between domain registration, hosting, and mapping, please see our page All About Domains:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/all-about-domains/
As I previously stated, any domains associated with your site will automatically forward traffic to your site’s Primary Domain. This is all done automatically and you will not have anything to worry about.
However, if you let one of your site’s custom domains expire, they will no longer be associated with your WordPress.com site and will no longer direct traffic to it.
Please refer to the link above for a great explanation on these topics, and let us know if you have additional questions.

Thank you so much! If you can do so, please cancel http://www.naturetraveltales.com as you initially said you would. I no longer need it now that I bought http://www.nature-traveler.com.
Thanks.

I’ve canceled naturetraveltales.com, as requested.

Greetings,
I am in the process of setting up a blog site. atlantago2girl.com….However, I found that there is a blog very similar to mine. I would like to change my blog name but I don’t want to loose all of my content and have to start all over again. Is there a way that I can change my domain name only instead of setting up an entirely new blog site???? Thanks

Custom domains like atlantago2girl.com can’t be changed, but I can cancel it and refund the associated charges.
Before I proceed, there are a few points I need to cover.
If we cancel your domain, it can take up to several weeks for our domain registrar to release the domain, and we can’t guarantee that your domain will be available to you again, once canceled.
If you want to keep using your domain, but you don’t want to use WordPress.com anymore, you don’t have to cancel it. Instead, you can move the domain to another site, using the Domain Administration tool under Store > Domains, at the bottom of the page.
For more information on using the domain elsewhere, please see:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-management/
At any time, you can add new custom domains to your sites:
https://wordpress.com/domains/
Once you confirm how you’d like to proceed, I will get started processing your transaction.

@pmciano …..Thanks for your response. I do not wish to move my domain elsewhere. I just wanted to change the domain name without having to start a completely new blog with new post. Question: if I add a new custom domain to my site is there an option to redirect the new domain to the current one so that I can keep everything the same on the site?
-
You can set the Primary Domain for your site here:
https://atlantago2rose.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=domains
All domains associated with your site will automatically direct visitors to your site’s Primary Domain.
If you have additional questions, please let us know.

hi pmciano… @atlantago2girl is NOT associated with https://naturetravelwriterdotcom.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=domains. Please don’t direct anything from that site to mine.
Thanks.
