Need to change email address

Hi there! I would like to change the email address associated with my account – it’s my email address from graduate school (which is when I started this blog) that I no longer have access to. I tried to do it online, but received an error message saying my new email address is already in use. I’m not aware of a wordpress site associated with my new email address.

Hi there, could you tell us what the new email address is? We’ll check it out and let you know what options are available.
If you’ll type it here it will be hidden from public view so only staff can see it. And we can use that to look for more information.

As you can see – I did find the blog that is attached to that email address. But I’d still like to change the email address for “@goodtimetobealive”

Got it — you know a Gmail address will still work the same if you don’t use the dot before the @? So here’s what I’d do:
– Update this account’s address to your address without the dot between your names. Confirm the changes. Then if you want to close this account you can, but you don’t have to. You can keep it so you’ll be able to use this name. If you close it, you won’t be able to get the name back.
– Log out, and log into your other account, and update to the address with the dot. Confirm the changes and you’ll be all set.
WordPress.com will see them as separate addresses, but Gmail will treat them like they are the same.
