need to change facebook description of my site

    I see how I can change my photo, but I need to change the description that shows up whenever I share my site on facebook. How do I do that?

    Your WordPress.com site’s tagline is picked up as description on Facebook.

    Visit the WordPress.com Customizer and click on Site Identity on the left. Enter a new tagline. This will now be the new Facebook description when you share your WordPress.com site.

    You can also make use of Facebook debugger tool for Facebook to pick up the new site description immediately.

    If you are referring to individual blog posts’ description on Facebook, this works using Excerpts. Open the blog post editor screen, click on More options at the bottom right and you will see Excerpts there. Enter a new excerpt, and it will be the new description when you share that blog post on Facebook. Same applies to Pages.
