  Owner of site is no longer associated with the Medical Society. What can I do to have the ownership updated?

  Hi there,

  To change the email address you must need to login to wordpress.com account and go to https://wordpress.com/me
  #On the screen appeared cick on “Account settings” from left sidebar.
  #Update the email address and click “Save account settings”
  #WordPress will send you an email to your email account. Verify the email and you are done. :)

  That site appears to be hosted at GoDaddy, not here at WordPress.com.
  You’d need to reach out to the owner of the site for something like changing Admins. If the site uses the wordpress software you could register an account and ask if there are any other options at

  Thanks for the GoDaddy info. Problem is the owner hasn’t responded to email after leaving the company 9 months ago. I was hoping to get information about what might be needed, like letter from company CEO, to have the owner changed/site shutdown.
  I did open an account on wordpress to get to this forum …. so open for how best to change ownership/shutdown the site.

  Hi Karen,

  You’ll need to contact support at GoDaddy directly for help with this, as they control the servers the site is hosted on, not us.

  You’ll need to gain access to the hosting account that owns the site on their end – once you have control over the hosting account, you’ll be able to regain access to the site’s admin user account where you can make the email change.

  GoDaddy support will be able to tell you what they need to give you access to the hosting account on their end.

  You opened a username account on WordPress.com. We’re a hosting provider, same as GoDaddy, for the open source WordPress software. That software is made by a community of volunteers on WordPress.org.

  A WordPress.com account, a WordPress.org account, and the Admin User account for a specific WordPress site, are three completely separate accounts, with a fourth account being the hosting account at your hosting provider.

  In this case, you need to gain access to the last two of those, but that’s not something we’re able to help with.
