Need to close one site

    Please help! I’m getting duplicated accounts somehow and I need to close one of my sites.

    Correct account: Yes

    Hi there,

    Can you tell me the usernames of the other accounts, and the URLs of the other sites you’re speaking of?

    Right now you’re posting here as the WordPress.com username, hrhookwriter. This account doesn’t own any sites hosted on WordPress.com, but you do have one self-hosted WordPress site connected to this account via the Jetpack plugin, hrhookwriter.com.

    You’ll also have an admin user account you use to log into WP-Admin on your site itself. If that’s perhaps the duplicate account you’re speaking of, you’re supposed to have that account as well – the admin user for your site is your primary account for logging into your site directly, and your WordPress.com account is required for you to use the Jetpack plugin.

    Hi,
    I appreciate your help. So I’m very confused about several things. I did recently close the site hosted by wordpress.com. I still have the self-hosted site that I am currently using.

    Here’s some problems: I got a message from Jetpack and Woocommerce that I have duplicate sites–one with my server name {hrhookwriter} and one with the IP address. I’m also having problems with several plugins which contains links to my website. When I click those links, I get an error message about the security certificate. My website is secure! My developers have checked. However, when I send a post via email, it keeps pulling it from the IP address instead of the server name and that’s when we get the error.

    The people helping me have spent a lot of time trying to pinpoint the error but unable to figure out why I’m getting messages about duplicate sites and why WP plugins seem to pull my IP address instead of the server name.

    I think the issues are connected.

    My URL is http://www.hrhookwriter.com. My username on this account is Heather.

    I’m also confused as to why I need to keep my orgininal WP account if I’m self-hosting. I’m just wondering if it’s confusing things since I my URL used to be http://www.hrhookwriter.wordpress.com but it may be unrelated. The duplication always states http://www.hrhookwriter.com and the IP address.

    Hi, let’s address this first:

    It’s actually a WordPress.com account, which you could think of as an Automattic account. You are using Jetpack and Gravatar, and possibly some upgrades from WooCommerce. All of those would be tied to this hrhookwriter account here.

    Your account for your own copy of WordPress, or anything you have at other sites (like WordPress.org), will be separate.

    Can you let us know what address these notifications are coming from? What is the subject of the emails? And, are they being sent to the address listed here?
