Need to contact wordpress organisers but can't find button to email them

I have two blogs coming up on my account with the same name but different titles in the url

    The first is
    louisemabbsevents.wordpress.com
This is where my info is loaded but is not coming up for others

    The other is
    Louise Mabbs’-classes, exhibitions….
I don’t have any info on this site & I think this title might not be correctly formatted for the title but better represents what I want people to find out. Again this comes up to public as having nothing on it but that’s correct

I need to delete one without loosing the content on the one that is working when I’m in my management account and use whichever title works properly but have no idea how to do it form all the problem solving things on the website

    Thank you for your help

    Louise M

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

I’d be happy to help you delete the blog you don’t want. First, though, I want to make sure we’re on the same page about your blogs. :) Here’s what I see on your account:

    1. You have a blog titled “Louise Mabbs’ – classes, exhibitions and shows” at this address:
    http://louisemabbsevents.wordpress.com/

That blog doesn’t have any content on it right now. If you’d like, I can help you hide this blog from visitors or permanently delete it. Just let me know if you’d like help with that. (If you permanently delete it, that will also delete the blog address. In that case, neither you nor anyone else will be able to use the address louisemabbsevents.wordpress.com again in the future.)

    2. You have a blog titled “louisemabbsevents.wordpress.com” at this address:
    http://louisemabbs.wordpress.com/

That blog has content on it, including half a dozen blog posts.

I think the confusion is coming from the second blog’s title. It looks like you entered the address of your first blog as the title for your second blog. To change the second blog’s title, you can go to Settings > General in your dashboard here: https://louisemabbs.wordpress.com/wp-admin/options-general.php

Next to “Site Title” you can enter any title you’d like, such as “Louise Mabbs’ – classes, exhibitions and shows.” That’s the title that will appear in your blog’s header at the top of the page.

Please let me know if you have any questions. :)

    Thank you very much Rachel.

That was very helpful & looks like it was what I couldn’t work out as to what was preventing things going live

I will see if I can sort out the titles first myself soon (when I’m less tired) and get back to you if it doesn’t work.

    Thank you for your time

    Louise

Since deleting a URL is forever – another option is to set the extra blog to Private – use that for practice or a spare – no requirement to use a blog here – that way there is no chance of loosing anything – just change the title to “My Spare Blog”

Dashboard >> Settings >> Reading >> Only visible to those I choose – remember to save changes

    Thank you both of you

I have done some twiddling around and judging from my husbands computer I think I have them all up and visible now?

I still have so much I don’t understand about how this all works though. I was just in front of computers all through school & didn’t get a chance in college because other people had priority so this is all a steep learning curve!

Not entirely pleased with results so far but will keep tweeking as & when I can!

    Hi Louise,

I see that you now have content on both of your blogs:

If you have any specific questions that you’d like me to help with, please just let me know! :)

We also have a tutorial for getting started with WordPress.com blogs, if you’re interested. You can find it here: http://learn.wordpress.com/

Sorry I am still having problems with the addresses of my sites:

faithfullfibres (faithful fibres and thoughtful threads) – is fine and is working for the public I think

louisemabbs-fairtrade’sfair (Fairtrading and buying with a conscience) -does the blog address work, which I assume is the first part, work ok with the hyphen and ‘ in it? Is it viewable to the public yet?

louisemabbs-tanzaniamania (be part of a designer quilt) – the address and subtitle are as I want it, are they visible to the public?

louisemabbsevents (Louise Mabbs’ – classes, exhibitions and shows) – is fine, is it all live to the public now?

there are two coming up as ‘what’s on’

what’s on with picture of tram – I don’t know where this came from but when I tried to delete it it seems to tie up with louisemabbsevents so I don’t want to lose anything form the events site, but tried several options to modify it which didn’t work. I don’t need this site

what’s on with trees picture – I tried to get the title as ‘louisemabbs-artistinresidencies’, again don’t know if hyphens are disallowed but it just came up as what’s on again. The strapline ‘Louise Mabbs’ – classes, exhibitions and shows’ is wrong – it should be ‘Louise Mabbs’ Artist in residencies undertaken

I will look at the tutorial again, but couldn’t resolve the problems above. Very sorry. Thank you for your help. Louise

    Hi Louise,

All of your sites are live and visible to the public, so no worries there! :)

As you look at your sites, it may help to take a look at the blog’s address in your browser’s address bar. That’s the best indication of what site you’re looking at. The blog address can be different from the site title in the header at the top of the page. We have more information about the site title and tagline, and how to change them, on this page: Changing your Site Title and Tagline

I will go through each of the sites you mentioned:

faithfullfibres (faithful fibres and thoughtful threads) – is fine and is working for the public I think

That site is up and visible to the public at this address: http://faithfullfibres.wordpress.com/

louisemabbs-fairtrade’sfair (Fairtrading and buying with a conscience) -does the blog address work, which I assume is the first part, work ok with the hyphen and ‘ in it? Is it viewable to the public yet?

This site is also up and visible to the public. The blog address is this: http://louisemabbsfairtradesfair.wordpress.com/

The hyphen isn’t included in the actual blog address, but you can have it in your site’s title at the top of the page.

louisemabbs-tanzaniamania (be part of a designer quilt) – the address and subtitle are as I want it, are they visible to the public?

This site is up and visible to the public at this address: http://louisemabbstanzaniamania.wordpress.com/

louisemabbsevents (Louise Mabbs’ – classes, exhibitions and shows) – is fine, is it all live to the public now?

You have a site titled louisemabbsevents.wordpress.com with this tagline, but it is live to the public at this blog address: http://louisemabbs.wordpress.com/

Please note that changing the site’s title won’t change the address in your browser’s address bar for the blog. Your site title is just the text that appears in the header at the top of the page. To visit the site, you’ll need to use the blog address I listed above.

what’s on with picture of tram – I don’t know where this came from but when I tried to delete it it seems to tie up with louisemabbsevents so I don’t want to lose anything form the events site, but tried several options to modify it which didn’t work. I don’t need this site

This site is at this blog address: http://louisemabbsevents.wordpress.com/

If you don’t need this site, I recommend setting the site to private so it isn’t visible to the public. You can do that under Settings > Reading in your dashboard at this link:

    https://louisemabbsevents.wordpress.com/wp-admin/options-reading.php

Next to “Site Visibility,” you can select “I would like my site to be private, visible only to users I choose.” That will hide it from visitors and search engines. You can read more about your site’s privacy settings here: Privacy Settings

what’s on with trees picture – I tried to get the title as ‘louisemabbs-artistinresidencies’, again don’t know if hyphens are disallowed but it just came up as what’s on again. The strapline ‘Louise Mabbs’ – classes, exhibitions and shows’ is wrong – it should be ‘Louise Mabbs’ Artist in residencies undertaken

This site is available at this blog address: http://louisemabbsartistinresidencies.wordpress.com/

You are welcome to change the site title to something other that “What’s on” by going to Settings > General in this site’s dashboard at this link:

    https://louisemabbsartistinresidencies.wordpress.com/wp-admin/options-general.php

Next to “Site Title” you can enter any title you’d like to have at the top of the page. You can also change the Tagline on that settings page.

Please let me know if you have any other questions!
