Need to convert classic to blocks

    My WordPress editor just updated to version 7.0.6. I had some content I wanted to update on some older posts, but when I open the post it just shows one empty block stating, “This block has encountered and error and cannot be previewed.”

    I looked for guidance on how to fix this and what I have found is that I need to convert the “classic” format post to “blocks”. The guides I found say to select the block, select the dropdown and select the “convert to blocks” option. Version 7.0.6 does not have this. All I see is Transform to: Columns, Premium Content, Group.

    Why do I not have the convert to blocks option and how do I convert my older posts to blocks?

    Hi there,

    Could you confirm you’re referring to the site onemanssite.wordpress.com? You mentioned a plugin version, which leads me to believe you might be actually working on a WordPress site hosted elsewhere.

    Either that or you’re following a guide for WordPress sites that wouldn’t apply to WordPress.com sites. Could you share a link to the guide you’re following?
