need to delete account

I just tried to answer an invitation to a blog. I have never signed up for WordPress before, but it told me I have an account. I put in my email address and said I’d lost my password. Got a new password and saw that “I” joined three blogs, none of which would have interested me.
I thought since I had a new password, I’d increased my security, and I delete membership in the three blogs. Then I decided I’d rather delete the whole account and start over.
I learned that I cannot delete my account. I’ve tried to contact WordPress directly, but just seem to get “ask the community.”
My information somehow was hijacked to create a WordPress account. I want WordPress to delete that account for my own security. Does anyone know what I should do now?

While you can’t delete the account (prevents impersonation), you’ll find how to lock up your current account so that you can simply walk away from it in any one of these previous forum threads:
