Need to delete author byline on contact form and . . .
-
. . . the resume, and possibly a couple of other pages. The contact form and a resume are the most obvious pages where the “by [my name]” at the top is inappropriate. It’s embarrassing having my name all over the place in strange spots such as those.
I use the Greyzed theme, and haven’t been able to find a way to delete the byline anywhere, and haven’t found it mentioned in the forums. When I look at all my pages on the dashboard and select “edit,” it looks like I should be able to delete my name, under the “author” column. But when I do that, the entire page gets deleted.
Please help?

There IS no way to delete the byline if it’s built into a theme, other than to learn CSS editing and then purchase the paid upgrade to hide it. If you don’t like it, use a theme that doesn’t have it.

Thanks for the quick reply. I’m very new at this. Can you tell me this: Now that I have a lot of content on my site, will it get messed up if I try out other themes on it? I mean to ask, if I experiment with other themes but decide to stick with the Greyzed theme despite the byline problem, will all my content go back to exactly how it is now?

No, it won’t get messed up unless you pick a theme notably narrower than the one you’re using. Stay away from Fjords. Theme changes do not affect content unless you switch to Monotone or Duotone.
