Need to delete "Latest Entries" title in Sight Theme

    I am working in the “Sight” Theme and using it as a website rather than a blog. I want to get rid of the “Latest Entries” title that appears over the main text area on my home page.

    I am using the “display latest posts” rather than “static page” so that the slideshow of sticky posts and featured photos appears at the top of the page.

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Hey there,

    Which blog are you talking about? dawnendean.wordpress.com is using the Hatch theme, not the Sight theme – and, additionally, I don’t see any “Latest Entries” label there as well :)

    Yea, sorry about that – the reference to the site was automatically generated I guess.
    The site I am working on is for a client and is not yet public. The Sight theme demo shows the header that I am talking about:

    @dawnendean, you are most likely talking about a self-hosted WordPress site, and with the self-hosted version of Sight, this will likely require hacking the theme script files. The WordPress.com version of the theme has been heavily modified and one of the very useful things we do is to add body classes, which allow you to target specific pages. The self-hosted version does not have body classes and it uses the same selector (content) for pages and single posts as well, so you can’t use CSS to hide only the latest posts title on the main page.

    My suggestion is to post in the WPShower support forum, or post in the self-hosted WordPress.org support forum.

    I should mention that you can download the WordPress.com version of Sight, which has the body classes in it, but may or may not have all the features of the version from WPShower. You may want to download it and take a look. If you do, you can then hide the latest posts title on the main page with the following:

    .home .latest-posts-header {
display: none;
}

    Hey, thank you for that information. I added that code to the CSS edit and it took care of the issue.
    I am a little confused about the WPShower vs WordPress.com versions of the theme; didn’t know there were “varieties”. I believe I am working with the WordPress.com version (in part because your fix worked!)
