Need to delete my site

I would like to delete my site but this message prevents me: “You have active premium upgrades on your site. Please cancel your upgrades prior to deleting your site.”

Please help delete my premium theme, as that is the only upgrade left that I cannot delete on my own.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Do you want Staff to transfer the premium theme to another WordPress.COM hosted site you registered under this username account or not? Please answer so your time is not wasted.

No, I do not need the transfer. I just need to do what is needed to delete my site.

Hi there,

Please check the Manage Purchases of your account. You’ll be able to see what upgrades are still on your account.

For instructions on deleting your site see the Delete Site page. There is a section there about deleting a site with upgrades.

Hi everyone,

I appreciate the quick responses so far, but I believe I need a staff member for this. The only upgrade left is my premium theme, which I am unable to delete as there is no option to and have read that I need a staff member to remove.

Has a recent chnage been made? I’m asking because we Volunteers have been tagging threads for Staff to remove premium themes as that is what we were instructed to do by Staff.

@ubcmj2014 since you’ve confirmed you don’t want the theme, I’ve removed it for you. You’re free to delete the site, but I recommend making it private instead since deletion will permanently deactivate the name (and making it private deactivates it for everyone but you.)

In either case you can find that setting at https://wordpress.com/settings .

@timethief, staff-eleanor is pretty new here :)

staff-eleanor no worries, you’ll get the hang of this. People can remove upgrades *except* themes; those need staff help because depending on the license, if have to add the theme back, we have to buy a license again. If you need help on any of these threads just let us know.
