Need to direct Bluehost email to WordPress

I have a new domain and associated email from Bluehost. I apparently need to configure my DNS, but I’m a total non-techie and don’t even know what this means. I did contact Bluehost as directed to get the appropriate information necessary to do this. HELP!!

How to enter the data you were sent – it you are still at a total loss – please post what you were sent by BlueHost here and someone should be able to help you with the format – put the info between the code tags to preserve info

then set A record for mail. and point to 69.195.124.161
This is totally foreign to me. Hopefully I’m not compromising the security of my email by posting this – if I am I hope you will remove my post.

My best estimate based on what you have provided from BlueHost is:
MX 0 box961.bluehost.com. A mail 69.195.124.161However it looks like the info might be incomplete – my email required a line to associate the domain name theintimacytoolbox.com with the host and I am not seeing that
I have flagged this for the staff to help but they are a bit backed up at present –
My other suggestion is to go back to Blue Host with what I have posted here and ask them if things are complete
The code goes into the box as described in the link I gave above – don’t forget the full stop character (period) with the first line

The “MX records” are some of the records that Blue Host requires to be added to your site here on WordPress.COM
Any existing MX records would not be relevant to your email

Wow, this is really frustrating. I feel like I am asking the Bluehost person for the right information – what I need to direct my Bluehost email to my WordPress site.
I dont know what to do at this point. -
will you please give me the exact verbiage to use when asking for this information from Bluehost?

The format for making my email work is below – the difference between what I see from Bluehost and my host is close but not quite, which is why I ask about the completeness of the info from Bluehost

I am with Bluehost CS right now. They know the issue. Here is what they said:
Right now your MX record points to mail.theintimacytoolbox.com, which points to the same address as your website. So your website and your email are hosted in the same place. We would need a different IP address or host name to point your mail somewhere else, and keep the site here.

Based on what makes MY email work – the below records use your data
MX 10 mail.theintimacytoolbox.com. A mail 69.195.124.161But that does not match with what you have posted from Bluehost but is what I would probably try –
Part of the problem is that not all the tech support people are real informed to hosting email while not hosting a web site – not a large part of the business it seems –

I just spend a bunch of time with search engines and could not find an example
I have also suggested that the support documents be updated to have an example from Bluehost since they are one of the hosts that are used with Guided Transfers

One other issue is that you don’t seem to have your name servers pointed to WordPress.COM – that will prevent access to your WordPress.COM blog and also stop email from working

I am going on the theory that you have a blog here that you want to have theintimacytoolbox.com. display your blog here at WordPress.COM

It looks like your domain registrar is not WordPress.com, and your site is not currently hosted on WordPress.com.
Is your ultimate goal to use WordPress.com or Bluehost as your hosting provider for your actual website?
If you wish to use WordPress.com, you will need to update your name servers to point here. Once that has been done and the domain records have updated to reflect WordPress.com as your hosting, we will need the full MX records from Bluehost for your email:
If you’re not planning on using us for your hosting, then we would not have anything to do with your email, and you could cancel your domain mapping for a refund, as that would do you no good at Bluehost.

From reading your other help requests, I know that you are moving to Bluehost.
In that case, I think the only thing you need to do is change the name servers for the theintimacytoolbox.com domain to point to the Bluehost servers. Once you do that, they should be able to manage the email stuff from their end. In the messages above, it kind of sounds like you just weren’t sure what to ask for or where to start! DNS can get pretty crazy, so keep at it and don’t get frustrated!
Changing DNS isn’t an easy task :) but the first best thing to do is to make absolutely certain of your end goal. I would recommend contacting Bluehost and asking the following:
Hi,
My domain is theintimacytoolbox.com and I bought it through WordPress.com but not I want to set it up on Bluehost. If I update the name servers for theintimacytoolbox.com to NS1.BLUEHOST.COM and NS2.BLUEHOST.COM, is that the right thing to do and can you help me get it connected to my Bluehost account (including email) after the change goes through?

You should also mention whether you had any past email setup for any addresses like (email visible only to moderators and staff) (it doesn’t look like you did).
I suspect they will say yes and at that point you should go ahead and follow these instructions to update your name servers:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/change-name-servers/#changing-domain-name-serversAfter that, you’ll need to wait a day or so for the changes to go through (DNS changes can take a while), and then contact Bluehost for help setting up your hosting account and email.
