Need to edit specific sidebar links/text without editing links/text elsewhere
-
In my blog using the P2 Theme, http://www.sharkcircle.wordpress.com/, I use a dark orange color for my links. This shows up nicely against my white background in the content area, but my sidebar has a teal background, and it doesn’t show up well there. It’s blurry. Not to mention the same text size and color all throughout the sidebar for the most part does not look good.
Basically I am looking for more control. What code controls the text/links for the twitter updates widget? I would like to change and dress up those how I please. Right now the names of twitter users, the links within tweets, and the time they are posted “4 hours ago” all show up in the same font, the same size. When really, “4 hours ago” should be smaller, it’s not as important as the tweet itself. How do I control these things in a more specific way?
Also the “follow” button followed by the name to follow, @sharkcircle, come in this default blue color. It’s not bad but being able to change it would be good control. As an aside, different question, is there a way to eliminate the actual tweets altogether and just have the follow button? Or better yet, I’ve seen on other blogs where the first thing in their sidebar is sort of a widget that basically is just four big buttons for following on twitter, facebook, and some other things. How do I get that?
Then if you look at my sidebar, above twitter updates and subscribe, is pages. There is just one page, about shark circle, but it shows up the same size as all the other links in the sidebar. Because it’s an important page, and alone, I was wondering if there is a way to make it stick out, change it up?
Then there is the recent posts widget. This is very bad as it is because there is not much separating each post. It looks like a big block of text. Is there a way to maybe decorate a bit, get some lines under each one, some dividing, maybe making each post stick out a little better? This is all in addition to needing to know how to change the font and color in each sidebad area without changing them for the other sidebar sections or the content area.
Also the poll, if I make it medium, text gets cut off, but having it at narrow it doesn’t fill the entire sidebar, and it looks bad. Any wy to fix this?
Recent comments is especially problematic. There is a small black font for the names of posters who comment, and then the bigger bad orange links. Their name font I want to change along with the orange links in the sidebar everywhere. The other problem is when I comment, because I’m registered in wordpress, my name atcually links to my blog, so it’s a link, so it also shows up orange. You basically have one big block of orange, you can’t even tell the name of the commenter, me, away from the post I comment on. I need a way to have the color for my name’s link be one thing, and the color for the post links be another.
“Top clicks” just has the same orange problem as the other links in the sidebar.
How do I fix these issues? Sorry there are many questions but…I have many questions…
