Need to find the email address attached to a site
-
Hi,
I ran a website with a friend years ago, at reallyseriousnews.wordpress.com. I’d like to get it taken down, or at least be able to log in so I can delete his posts, as having his byline on it is hurting his job hunt.
I’d love to be able to log in, but at minimum, would love to be able to find the email address I used to make the site. If I can find that, I can likely log into that old email address (unless it’s my old college email address, which I no longer have access to), reset my old wordpress account password, and take the posts down myself.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks so much!
Jordan

A username on that site appears to be jzakarin.
Staff won’t indicate what email address is associated with that account, although they might try sending an email to the email address currently listed as the Admin address.
Just thinking aloud, if you had email notifications of new comments set up on that site, you could try leaving a comment on a post and seeing where the email shows up.
Once you have the email address, you can try changing the password. If you can’t find that info, you could try account recovery. https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/
Hope that helps.

Ah, that’s the problem – I can’t get the email address. I don’t know what it is! If I had the email address, I’d get the password for the site.
Is there a way to prove my identity? The email on the site I have listed for contact is (email visible only to moderators and staff) – I could answer an email from that. Or show my social security card! There’s got to be a way to get in.

Please read the Support doc that I linked to earlier and follow the instructions at the bottom. It mentions what proofs can be provided for account recovery.
