need to free domain name for a different user

  I’m helping a friend set up a blog and forgot to log out myself (facepalm) the domain whenscalesfall.wordpress.com was available and I created the site. I deleted the site on my profile and tried again on a new account, but now the domain is no longer available.

  Do I just have to wait a little for it to become free again? Does someone at WordPress HQ have to free it up for me?

  Hello Isaac,
  I may disappoint you with this, but once a site is deleted it’s address is reserved so that no one can register it again(not even the owner). This is done to keep your blog from being impersonate by someone else.

  However,

  Sites already deleted by their authors two or more years ago may become available again, if they present no username or other technical conflicts.

  As stated here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/

  So the only option you have currently that you go with some other address. Really sorry about that mate.
