    Hi Richard…

    Yes, I have yet one more issue I need your help with.

    When a site visitor clicks on any of the ARCHIVES links (located in the right-hand side of the page), the white overlay blocks out the featured image on the search. I clicked on the July 2015 & June 2015 archive links, and the culprit is there. Can you help?

    Thank you,
    Gordon

    This should do the trick for you.

    .archive .post-thumbnail + .entry-header {
        margin-top: 0;
    }

    May I reopen this thread? I am unclear as to whether the overlay box is a default in Sela. I see threads from users trying to get the overlay to show up – and then this thread seems to indicate CSS is required to turn it off.
    I – somehow – got the overlay showing on my site (awakenmichigan.org, but it’s not published yet). Now I can’t turn it off! I’ve tried templates (Front Page puts it in roughly the right place; the others just change the shape of the overlay and move it down), Widgets, everything else in the Customize menu, everything else in the Appearance menu, everything in the Settings menu.
    Utterly confused – can you help? In case my confusion is unclear, I’m trying to get rid of the overlay. Thanks!

    What people may be encountering with the overlay is that it disappears on screens/windows that are narrower than 768px. The theme is designed to hide it on narrower screens so that the image doesn’t entirely get covered by it.

    The overlay box, as far as I know, cannot be turned off by a setting in the dashboard. The only way to hide it would be with CSS, but in order to do that, you would need to upgrade to the WordPress.com Premium or WordPress.com Business plan, which include the Custom Design feature.

    I see – that makes sense! Thanks very much. Did I miss seeing this fact on the Sela documentation page?

    No, I don’t see it mentioned on the Sela Theme Support Page. I don’t thing that would be something they would typically mention in the documentation. I’m thinking about that though and may get that added.
