Need to host blog in a subdirectory
-
Hello – we are wordpress.com business customers and need to use subdirectories for better SEO, as mentioned here: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/blog-in-subdirectory
Is this possible with wordpress.com ?

Hi there,
Mapping to sub-directories in WordPress.com is not possible (see here for more info: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-subdomain/#not-supported), only mapping to sub-domains is.
As a heads up, if you are on a Business Plan you have the option of opening up live chat here on WordPress.com and getting more immediate support. Hope this helps!

Hi there,
When you say you want a blog in a subdirectory, do you mean an entire site, or just a news feed of posts?
If you want to host an entire site in a subdirectory, that’s not possible on WordPress.com, even with the Business Plan. Doing that requires making changes to your server configuration files, and we don’t allow that on WordPress.com.
If you just want a news feed, you can do that by creating a static front page, and then setting a different page as your site’s Posts page. Detailed instructions here:
As @karenlattfield also mentions above, your Business Plan upgrade gives you access to live chat and priority email support every day of the week, so you don’t need to post in our public forums for help.
