need to import a .sql file from phpmyadmin

  I have exported my database to an .sql file. Need to import it to new site at wordpress.com. Getting error that its the wrong file type. PhpMyAdmin doesnt export to .bz2 file type that wordpress.com is asking for. Need help asap.

  I’m afraid it’s not possible to directly import a SQL backup at WordPress.com.

  If you still have your WordPress.org installation handy, could you please try following this guide to migrate your site?

  Otherwise, you can install WordPress locally, restore your backup, and export the XML file.
