Need to import blog content in xml file

  My wordpress content is in xml format. It came from a sql file. I don’t know how to convert it to be acceptable by WordPress. What can I do to import it? I tried to import it as is and got an error message saying that it was not a wxr file, or something to that effect.

  The file came from an sql file, the file came from a WordPress.org blog I had in the past. The sql file was exported as xml, and that is the file I have. Thanks for your assistance.

  I should have said that the original file was an sql dump.

  We cannot import SQL dumps at WordPress.com.

  You’ll need to go back to the original blog and export it from Tools -> Export in its Dashboard.
