Need to know how to reactivate my wordpress Blog….. Please Help

I’ve been in a coma for a time, now I want my Blog to be active, if I sign in I can see my Blog, but can not edit it.. My domain name from 1&1.com is current… WordPress was not charging me for this service as I had the very basic freebee type account & you can check the usage it’s a very small Blog & don’t get used much… Anyway I need to get this resolved, would you please tell me what I need to do…?? e-mail is best contact, or if you give me a phone # to call I’ll call whoever I need to talk to someone who can get my Blog back up, Thanks… (email visible only to moderators and staff) Blog; RyderwoodRumors.com

It looks like you purchased a domain name but somehow pointed it at a blog that does not exist.
ryderwoodrumors.wordpress.com doesn’t exist
Nobody will phone you but I will flag this for staff, who may contact you by email.

Thanks’ thing is it’s been working for years, so wither the Domain name provider moved where it was parking me, or the Blog company “WordPress” changed something… If I sign into my account at WordPress I can access my RyderwoodRunors.com blog page & it’s all there, but no one other than me can access it…
Now I just clicked on the link in my original comment above, and it signs me in automatically and goes straight to my Ryderwood Rumors Blog..?? but no one else can…???

This issue was explained, and a solution provided, almost a year ago by Staff person jerrysarcastic on a thread begun by snowbirdbob titled expired blog…?? got no bill to renew it..??.

I had some one set up my website for me. I was never given a notice of when my domain name expired but the other day it said my domain expired. I contacted 1&1 and got my domain reactivated but I still can’t get my site back up on WordPress. My website is http://www.lizjones.org. Thank you for your help. Well I’m talking with the 1&1 Domain provider, & when I set this blog up it went to word press & never was changed by me.. It looks like WordPress changed it & made it not work so they could bump me off of the free basic account I’ve had for years so they could start charging me for it….. Does anyone have a phone number for WordPress so I can talk with them personally…?? Thank you…

It looks like WordPress changed it & made it not work so they could bump me off of the free basic account I’ve had for years so they could start charging me for it….
We wouldn’t be able to make changes to your domain as it was not registered through us. We have no control over that. The only thing we have control over is the domain mapping upgrade.
Back in 2010 you did pay for a $13 domain mapping for a year which allowed your domain to point to your WordPress.com site: snowbirdbob.wordpress.com. However, it is a yearly upgrade and it was never renewed after that. So after the expiration you were able to find your site at the free address: snowbirdbob.wordpress.com.

Well 1&1 Domain people just verified that my Domain name has always been pointed to WordPress since way before 2008 to the following:
RyderwoodRumors.com NS records
RyderwoodRumors.com name server ns1.wordpress.com.
RyderwoodRumors.com name server ns3.wordpress.com.
RyderwoodRumors.com name server ns2.wordpress.com.& has not been changed by them or me… That it would have had to be changed by you, I don’t know anything about an up grade, I don’t do upgrades on purpose, I’m a disabled vet, in a wheelchair with a very small pension from the VA & can’t afford more than free basic account, & it was working just fine, the site has always performed great & I don’t need any of the upgrade benefits as they don’t benefit me, my account has a very small following of a hand full of my friends only..

Note that a domain name is a name used to identify a particular website on the internet. Your site’s domain name is like your mailing address. Your domain exists independently of your site. So in order to have a domain show up at a site with your content, you need 2 things: 1) domain registration which you currently have with 1&1 as you mentioned 2) domain mapping which would be through us.
If you do not have any of the 2 that I stated above, your site will not be found on the web. So, if you have domain registration and NO domain mapping, your domain will NOT be found pointing to your WordPress.com site.
You can find more information about domains here.
Domain mappings are $13/year on WordPress.com. If you want your domain to show up on your WordPress.com site, you will need to pay for this upgrade. If you do not want to pay, you can find your site at the free address: snowbirbbob.wordpress.com. Even if you change the nameservers to us, if you do not purchase the domain mapping it will not work.

Then how do I get the free Blog I had before & how did it get set up for free, & you guys still offer a free Blog on your site I saw it today…??
How can you have a free Blog if it’s now costing money every year, that’s not free……………Or get a new free Blog & transfer my program over to it…

I don’t see this anywhere on your account. Take a screenshot of where you are finding this with the url visible at the top and I can take a further look. Upload the screenshot to your Media > Library page.

well if you are going to make my old Blog back to a free blog again, & you don’t want money anymore, that fixes me & we can quit meeting like this…. & nothing will change on my Blog, right, I mean I don’t have to rewrite it or anything right…?????

If you want your custom domain on that blog, pointing the nameservers at it won’t do the job. You have to pay the $13 mapping upgrade.

I may have paid a small setup fee at first not sure, too long ago….
Why didn’t you guys tell me you wanted money instead of just changing my address so it wouldn’t work, & I’ve been paying my domain name renewal thinking the Blog was still going great..
