Need to migrate site and domain name
-
I have a small website with another host, and I want to bring my site and domain name to WordPress. I just accidentally registered a [domainname].Wordpress.com bog. But i need a plain [domainname].com website.
I want to pay WordPress to migrate my site from (how embarassing) – VistaPrint.
Any way to learn how? Thanks.

If you already own a domain then you purchase a domain mapping upgrade to use it in conjunction with your .wordpress.com blog first read Domains – Important Notes Before Upgrading http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/#important-notes-before-upgrading
In order to map to a domain one must have an underlying .wordpress.com subdomain blog to map from. If you have registered a .wordpress.com blog you log in as Admin under the exact same username account that registered the blog and purchase a domain name by purchasing an annually renewable domain mapping upgrade for the blog.
See here for mapping an existing domain that you already own http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
Dashboard > Store > My Upgrades is where you do the primary blog set up knowing it can take between 24 – 72 hours for domain name propagation to take place throughout the internet. You can view the DNS changes here > http://www.whatsmydns.net/ What’s important during that stage is to be patient.

You were answered some time ago – the answer is about the same

Thanks. Last year, I was told that eventually, WordPress.com would be accepting domain transfers. Not going to happen?
By “mapping”, is it that I post on my “Website.wordpress.com” blog, and wordpress will show it as “Website.com” when people type in the URL?
I found this 3-year- old post about Vistaprint:

I will try that 800 # first. Thanks so much.
