Need to move a wordpress site from one wordpress account to another?

    I need help to move this website to a different website host. I was trying to move it to the account I have here but I am a little confused. The site I am trying to move is a wordpress site and when I log in, it seems it is already with you. How do I move it to a different wordpress account?
    To explain: the current website host requested to have us move the website off of his server. We have the domain located elsewhere and is currently pointing to the website and we want to keep the domain where it is. I am now the admin on the account as I am trying to figure this out for my employer.

    Is this something you can help me with through email as I see you do not offer phone support, and can you tell me how much it would cost as well?

    To clarify, WordPress is free open source software that anyone can use to create a website on a traditional “web server” whereas WordPress.com is a managed hosting service (considerably less DIY) where we set up everything for you, so you can focus on managing your site.

    In this sense your site is not with us already (on WordPress.com) but if you wish you can definitely migrate your site here. We have a guide on this page that will walk you through the process: https://wordpress.com/support/import/#self-hosted-word-press-org-site

    That is not a problem. If you upgrade to either of the upgrade plans listed here, you will be able to “connect” your domain to our WordPress.com servers, without the need to actually transfer it to this account. It can remain where it is, but your site here can use that custom address without issue.

    While it’s true we don’t offer phone support, if you upgrade to the WordPress.com Pro Plan ($180/yr) it does include live chat site support M-F (email support on the weekends) so we could walk you through this process or answer any question you have in realtime. It’s very helpful if you are just starting out with managing your site for yourself.

    As well the Pro Plan has a “one click” migration option that will take an exact copy of your existing site and move it over to WordPress.com with no changes. This is not included with our Starter plan (or free sites) so it’s a real time-saver if you are at all overwhelmed by the thought of moving the site yourself.
