Assuming it has not been purchased by someone else, you can purchase it again.

re: purchasing upgrades
WordPress.com provides free blogs and hosts them free of charge. There are no bandwidth charges. All WordPress.com blogs come with 3000 megabytes (~3 GBs) of space for storing uploaded files and images. Free features are listed here https://en.wordpress.com/features/
We have different plans: free, personal, premium and business. All hosting is free regardless of which plan you choose. You can view all wordpress.com plan features here https://wordpress.com/pricing/ Add a plan for each of your sites here: http://store.wordpress.com/plans/.
Details:
There are no monthly payment plans and no bulk deal upgrades. We are billed annually. Also note that purchase orders are not accepted. We must pay for all upgrades in full at the time of purchase.WordPress.com does not accept domain transfers but mapping an existing domain is possible. http://support.wordpress.com/domain-mapping/map-existing-domain/ The domain purchase or mapping of any existing domain URL is included in the pricing for a personal upgrade, a premium and a business upgrade.
Adding a domain to your site (either registering a new domain or mapping one you already own) requires a WordPress.com plan. Each plan comes with one free domain credit. However, you can setup additional domains on the same site as add-on upgrades. … https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/
Premium upgrades do not include any premium themes which are all individually priced one time upgrades. The Business upgrade includes access to all premium themes but also note that there is no e-commerce capability under any plan here https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/small-business-website-1?replies=2#post-2804631.

It can take up to 72 hours for domain propagation to take place throughout the internet but it doesn’t usually take that long. https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/

The domain is no longer listed on my dashboard because it has expired. However, It’s not available for purchase again. I’m trying to get in touch with WordPress support in hopes I can reactivate it. How can I reach support?

However, It’s not available for purchase again. I’m trying to get in touch with WordPress support in hopes I can reactivate it.
1. What is the domain URL?
2. What is the underlying .wordpress.com URL?
3. Exactly which username account registered the underlying .wordpress.com blog and purchased the upgrade for it?
4. When was the upgrade purchased?
5. When did the expiration, refund request and/or upgrade cancellation take place? How can I reach support?

HI ,
Just checked the details of your domain. Your domain is in Redemption period. You will probably have to pay an additional charge to register the domain with you again. The charge usually depends on the service providers. You could check with your service provider directly or we can check , one of our happiness engineer would provide you details of the charges in order to get it re registered with you. Also the other option is chances are your domain would be available after the redemption period which is usually 30 to 35 days then you can purchase it on a normal price if there are no other buyers.
Hope this was helpful , one the happiness engineers would help you soon. -

The expiration took place on Oct. 10, 2016.
Expiration Date: 08-OCT-2017

@pavanraheja
I have answered questions here for over 10 years now. I predate the support docs and all support staff being on staff except for one member. I have no interest in bercomeing a staff member or in mentoring those who wish to become one. I multitask from my business and do not wish to tailgate every thread that every new volunteer posts into. I hate doing that.Advice:
Use the tag search utility https://en.forums.wordpress.com/tags/ as well as using Google search, and searching the support docs before posting answers. Don’t post into any thread unless or until you have done that and made note of the answers that experienced volunteers and staff have provided to the same questions previously. -
Hi pecork512013,
The domain katmpecora.com belongs to the username, pecork51, and only that username can recover the domain. Please log in as the correct username to confirm, and I can get the process started for you.
Thanks!

Hi gemmacevans,
I have done as you requested. Please begin the process to recover domain katmpecora.com. How much do you anticipate costs will be?Thank you,
Katherine -
Hi Katherine,
Great, thanks!
How much do you anticipate costs will be?
The domain, katmpecora.com, is the redemption period. Therefore the total cost will be $98: $80 for the redemption fee and $18 for domain registration.
If you agree to these costs I can generate a payment request for the amount. Once that has been paid, we can start the process of trying to get your domain back for you.
Should the recovery fail after you’ve paid the redemption fee, that fee is refunded in full.
If you do not want to pay the fee, you can wait until the domain is released but you may not be able to get it back if it is purchased at auction during this time.
Please let me know if you agree to the $80 fee and would like us to attempt recovery.
I’ll wait to hear form you and let me know if you have any questions. -
Thank you for the quick response. I agree to those terms and am willing to make the payment. Please begin the process.
How long do you anticipate it will be before we hear word about the domain recovery?
Thank you.

Payment has been submitted. Thank you for your help on this. How long do you anticipate the process to recover the domain will take?

Just got notification that I now have ownership of the domain again. Yay! Thanks much!
How do I go about setting up my site again? Will my site (built through Wix) return to normal or do I need to do anything specific?
Thanks in advance.
