Need to reconfigure Google Authenticator App (have access to wordpress panel)
-
I have reinstalled the Google Authenticator App and now I need to reconfigure it to access WordPress Admin panel. Currently I am accessing the Admin Panel via backup codes. Your help will be appreciated as I don’t see any place where there is a QR code.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Howdy,
When you visit http://wordpress.com/settings/security/ , you’ll need to disable two-step authentication and then re-enable it. Adding a more direct “change device” option is on our todo list, but we’re not quite there on the list yet.
If you have any questions or need anything else, please let me know. Cheers!

I had tried exactly the same thing you mentioned but what stopped me was that it required to enter code from Authenticator. Since I had already lost access to it, there was no way I could enter it. This time I tried the backup code and it worked.
My suggestion is if you could specifically mention on the page that code from authenticator is required OR “one of the backup codes” to disable 2 step authentication then it could help people with similar issues as mine. Thanks

Thanks for the suggestion. I think we take for granted that anytime we ask for any verification code, we mean in any format they could come from.
Cheers!
