Need to recover my wordpress site after renewing an expired domain

    I am trying to recover my website that I built in wordpress.

    The site I am trying to recover is http://www.troytech.co.uk

    I purchased the domain using 123-reg.co.uk

    The domain expired on 10 June 2020 (i think).

    I have renewed the domain and i am trying to recover the wordpress site however i am having trouble.

    I cant log into the site how I used to. ie via ‘www.troytech.co.uk/wp-admin’

    It just comes up with
    ‘This site can’t be reached
    http://www.troytech.co.uk’s server IP address could not be found.
    Try running Windows Network Diagnostics.
    DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAI’

    I re-purchased the domain only 30 minutes ago so im not sure if the issue is because it may take time for the domain to reinstate across the internet.

    Also, I have tried logging into word press via their login page….

    upon entering I can’t see my original website content, only generic website content.

    Is there anyway of getting my website back, please help, i spent ages building it and lots of money on ELEMENTOR plugins.

    Hi there,

    The site troytech.co.uk appears to be a self-hosted WordPress (also called “.org”) site hosted on GoDaddy, and not a site hosted on our WordPress.com service.

    You can confirm here: https://gwhois.org/troytech.co.uk+dns

    To clarify, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities, but the essential difference is that we don’t have access to all WordPress sites, only the ones hosted on our WordPress.com servers. See http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ for more info.

    With this in mind, we are not able to help, but please contact your host’s support team for more assistance.

    Thank you for your help Jerry

    I have contacted the company who was the host and domain provider at the time it was live, 123reg.co.uk. They said they cannot recover the website.

    However,

    I edited the actual functionality and appearance of the website inside wordpress, so is there not a way where I log back into the same wordpress back office?

    No, since that was a self-hosted WordPress.org site, which we really can’t help with here.

    To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/

    If you weren’t keeping your own backups, and the hosting provider didn’t have a backup for your account, you’ll need to re-build the site.
