Need to recover old wordpress address

    We are a real estate broker and someone else in the company thought it would be a good idea to port the address over to our new name without taking into account the way search engines have indexed our site in the past. The result is that we went from having about 350 views and 200 visitors/day down to zero. When I try to register the old blog name to redirect it to our new site, wordpress says the name is in use. When I go to the address, wordpress displays a message that the site was deleted. Solutions please?
