Need to refresh page to get the right font
-
Just to let you know I have started to experience the same problem with my blog as is detailed in the thread below. The last post from WordPress staff says they are on the lookout for similar cases. When I go to my site for the first time in the morning after turning my computer on, the default fonts are showing. My custom fonts then show up after I do a refresh. This has only just started happening in the last few days. My browser is Opera 18.

Interestingly, I have noticed since my site has been added to the Kent page in the Theme Showcase (yay!!) the little screenshot it uses on that page under “Awesome blogs using Kent” shows the default (not the custom) font.

It would be really good to get it fixed…

Congrats. :)
The font in the thumbnail screenshot looks correct to me. Here’s a copy of the latest screenshot that I see: https://cloudup.com/cvbBiZC4VeB
I see Chunk as the Headings font, which is the one currently selected in your Appearance > Customize > Fonts panel.

Here’s how it looked (default font, not Chunk) when I turned my computer on and loaded my blog just now:

Thank you for the screenshot. I appreciate that because it helps very much in cases like this one where I’m unable to see the problem happening myself.
This is a particularly frustrating bug because of how it happen only sometimes. If you have time and you want to dig a little more, it would help me to know if you are able to find any related errors in the web inspector in your browser. If you’re willing to give it a look, then try these steps next time you start up your computer in the morning:
1. Before loading the site, open your browser tools by clicking Cmd + Opt + I or by going to View > Enable Developer Tools and then going to Developer > Web Inspector in Opera.
2. Open http://in-the-back-of-the.net/ and make sure the font is incorrect.
3. Go to Resources > Stylesheets and look for any files that are highlighted or marked red or have an error number next to them.
4. Look for a resource named “d” and click on it. Does that file load properly for you? If not, can you screenshot it for me? Here’s what that file looks like when I load it in my tests—this is what it looks like when the custom font is working correctly: https://cloudup.com/c9Ej2jMeo6

Thanks designsimply, I understand these intermittent bugs must be really annoying. It’s just like taking my car to the mechanic and it won’t jolly well do there what it’s been doing to me for months! Murphy’s law.
In that spirit, it hasn’t replicated the bug this morning. Next time it does I will try to get a screenshot of what you are asking for.
Your link at the end of your last message isn’t coming up for me. When I click on it I get a message saying “this page doesn’t exist”. But anyway, to make sure I get exactly what you need, I followed your instructions as best I could as a test run and this is where I ended up: http://inthebackofthenet.files.wordpress.com/2014/03/untitled1.png
Is that correct? Do you need the code that’s running off the side of the page as well?

Sorry about the bad link! Looks like I accidentally missed the last character:
https://cloudup.com/c9Ej2jMeo6LYes, this is absolutely correct:
http://inthebackofthenet.files.wordpress.com/2014/03/untitled1.pngWhat I’m wondering is if there are any specific error messages or problems reported in that view at a time when you load the page and the font doesn’t work as expected. Having at least one screenshot like that will help me when I referring to this issue with developers, so thanks very much if you can get one!

Started loading in the wrong font just now, then changed its mind at the last second. Does the message next to the yellow triangle here mean anything?

That is just a warning about how the syntax for some of the JavaScript being used has changed. It’s unrelated to the font issue. Thanks for checking it with me though!
