Need to remove extra WordPress account

    I accidentally made two WordPress sites. I need this one removed so I can add the proper email to my other site. I don’t want to close it because it says I can’t add the email to the other once it is closed.

    I don’t have a site with WordPress.com yet

    Hi there:

    Even if you delete the account that is using the email now, you’ll need to wait 30 days for the deletion process to complete in order to free that email up for use on your other site.

    But, you may not need to do that because you can transfer sites between WordPress.com user accounts. Can you let us know what your site is and what email address you want to use for that site? Once we have that information, we’ll be better able to advise.

    This is my current site: typesandwrites.wordpress.com, and the email I want to use is [REDACTED]. The current email associated with my site is [REDACTED], and I’m not even sure I can still access that old email account.

    Hello there,

    Ok, @ashlynnivy – can you access the the WordPress.com account? If yes, the email address can be changed via https://wordpress.com/me/account

    You would not be able to change this to an email address that has already been used with WordPress.com as it’s not possible to have multiple accounts under one email address.

    You would need to use a different email address, one that you can access so that you can confirm the change.

    Once an email address in an account is changed, this email address can then be used with another WordPress.com account.
