Need to Remove Meta Widget
-
I have applied the Coraline Theme and the Meta Widget is displaying on the home page. I would like to remove it, but when I look in the Widget manager in the Dashboard it is not applied to any of the Widget areas. I have checked all Widget areas. The site in question is: http://sareed34test.wordpress.com/
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello there,
Are you an Administrator? See here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/
If you are an Administrator of the blog in question this is very easy to do normally.

I just set up my test blog with Coraline and was able to add and to delete the Meta Widget. http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/meta-widget/ -
If trying again doesn’t help you then please check to be sure you have enabled widget accessibility. http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/#widget-accessibility-mode

If you haven’t customized widgets yet, a default widget set is used. If you would like to replace the default widget set, then you must add a new widget to take its place.
I see that your blog is currently using the Sidebar-Content-Sidebar layout in Coraline. That means the widgets in the column on the right is controlled using the Secondary Widget Area in your Appearance -> Widgets page. Try adding new widgets there to override the meta widget you are seeing.

Timethief and Designsimply,
Thank you for the help. I did look to make sure I was an administrator, I just assumed my account was, but it’s nice verify.
I followed your advice about just adding another widget to the area and that seemed to replace the Meta widget, even though Meta was not even showing in the Secondary Widget area.
Thank you!
