An S was accidentally added and saved to my WordPress website address. Now, I cannot log into my account or access my page, and neither can anyone else. Suggestions on being able to get in and remove the S or someone to contact?

    Hi there,

The s that you see on the HTTP indicates that all interactions and sessions between the place where your site is hosted and a user’s/visitor’s browser are secure . All WordPress sites get this feature automatically, it a good thing to have on your website for security reasons especially as it protects your site’s visitors. The occurrence of the s should not hinder anyone from accessing your site so we can separate the issue from that cause.

May you please provide this URL in question and the staff will help you troubleshoot any problems. in the meantime please check to see if your site is not set to private.

Mine has never had an S after the HTTP and has always shown up as not secure. It’s onmywayuponline.com . Thanks!

It looks like this site is hosted by GoDaddy.

These forums are for sites using WordPress software and that are hosted on WordPress.com, unfortunately we can’t help you here.

There is a separate entity for sites using WordPress software, but are hosted elsewhere: WordPress.org. You can access the support forums for WordPress.org here: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

You can also try to contact GoDaddy to see if they can help.

Here’s a link explaining the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/ – The upshot being that with WordPress.com you can get support here, and your site’s server needs are fully managed. With WordPress.org, you’ll need to rely on yourself and a hosting company (Like GoDaddy) to manage the technical side of running a website.
