Need to reset my theme
-
I’m trying to set up a blog for my daughter, and I’ve made too many changes. I want to reset to the original theme, but I’ve removed too many blocks and I don’t know how to restore it. I don’t want to delete the entire page and lose the subdomain name. Please, can you help?

Hi there, what’s the address of the WPcom site where you want the theme reset? Doing so will also empty any content you may have added, so please confirm that you understand that.

dabbingdevil.wordpress.com
I don’t care if the content is erased. I just want to be able to start over from scratch with the same blog name. Thanks.

The only option we have for this is to completely purge the site the site of all data, it won’t return the demo content.
You could start a new site with the same theme, build a bit there, and export/import across the sites.

So you’re saying you can’t restore the default content for the theme I selected? I don’t care if the data itself is gone. I just put up some placeholder text to try out the blog function, so that can be erased.

In this case we can’t restore the demo content for the theme, no.
But if you create a new page at My Site ->Site ->Pages ->Add New, you should see the option to select from a number of page templates. You should be able to select the Homepage template for this theme, for example, to create a new homepage with the original layout.

Just deleted the entire site. If I can’t use the same URL and need to create an entirely new page, then it serves no purpose for me. I don’t understand why you couldn’t have simply restored the page to its original template content.
