Need to restore my old domain

I think I mistakenly deleted the domain I wanted to use and now it says unavailable. Is there any way to recover it?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi! I don’t see a domain on this account — even a cancelled domain. Can you let us know what the domain is?

Generally speaking, if we work very quickly we can get the domain back, so let us know right away so we can see what options are available.

  • Also, to expedite this, if you can log out and log back in using the email address that got a receipt or renewal reminders for the domain, that should be the correct account. Then update us here.

Again we’ll want to work quickly before the domain goes into redemption, as it’s much more costly to get it back at that point. Talk to you soon!

I somehow got switched to thescooponlifeorg.wordpress and now thescooponlife.wordpress isn’t availble

I’m looking at the audit history for your account and I’m not showing that you ever had thescooponlife.wordpress.com active. That particular URL was deleted by the original site owner more than four years ago when they also deleted their user account.

Also, it looks like your site URL has always been thescooponlifeorg.wordpress.com so I’m not sure what URL you were using previously.

If you have more details that could shed some light on this here, that would be most helpful. Thanks!

Oh, for some reason I thought I had originally enter just “thescooponlife” but I guess that wasn’t available. Will it always be unavailable now? And do you have other close recommendations if so?

Yes – blog addresses cannot be reused once they’re deleted.

I did do a search for a custom domain that would work and you might be interested in that instead.

With any yearly WordPress.com paid plan, you can register a domain for free for the first year (subsequent renewals would be full price) and use that domain as your site address instead of the free WordPress.com URL. You can review the different plan options here and to get started:

With that said it looks like both scooponlife.com and thescooponlife.com domains are available to be registered, so that could be an option for you!

    Hope that helps!
