Need to start from scratch

Hi there, I started creating a blog and registered my email address, but I want to change the username (to be more anonymous). I think it’s easiest if I just start from scratch. Not sure if it took my payment either because the screen froze. I can’t see a way to deactivate or delete an account.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

To delete your site, you can log in, then go to Settings, then Delete Site. Or you can find instructions to delete your site here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/delete-site/
Keep in mind that all of your content will be deleted along with it, so back up anything you want to save first. You will be presented with the option to export all of your content before deleting the site.

Once you change your username you will not be able to change it back and the old name will not be available for you or anyone to use. If you just want to show your name differently please only change your Display Name. https://en.support.wordpress.com/change-your-username/
Deleted wordpress.COM blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and the only exceptions are made are for URLs that were deleted 2 or more years ago. http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/

Then if you wish to you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade because it does not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is when you are domain mapping.

Your username can be changed using the steps in this guide:
Please be aware that you will not be able to change your username back again or use it again in the future. So only make the change if you are sure you won’t need your current username. As timethief mentioned, another option is to change your display name:

There are no upgrades owned by the account you are logged in to, so the payment wasn’t successful. Any upgrades added to your account would be listed on your Manage Purchases page:
