Need to stop Jetpack Monitor emailing me about a site that no longer exists
-
I shut down an old WP site a while ago but didn’t think to disconnect jetpack from it first. The server hosting it is no longer on line, the WordPress account that I used to set it up has been deleted. The domain that the site used ( tommymartin.me ) has been redirected to another site.
Yesterday I started getting email notifications from Jetpack Monitor telling me that my site was offline, followed by one a few minutes later telling it was back online. 10-15 minutes I get an email telling me it’s offline again… and so on. How do I make it stop?
The site in question was at tommymartin.me
Thanks
Tommy Martin

Hi Tommy!
You should be able to disconnect the site as explained here:
Note, however, that the site is connected to another WordPress.com account of yours. So you’ll want to log out and log back in using the same email address where the notifications are sent.
We can also help you with this and disconnect the site from your account, but we’ll also need to hear from the correct account to do this. You can just add a comment below from the account where the site is connected.

Hi Fresatomica,
Thanks for replying… Unfortunately, my old wordpress account (the one using the address where the notifications are sent) has been deleted!
If I try and login in with that email address I get the message “User does not exist. Would you like to create a new account?”
Where should I go from here? I’ve 40 messages from Jetpack so far today!
Thanks for your help

The account was not deleted; that’s why you’re getting all the emails.
There are, in fact, two other sites connected to the same account.
Which email address are you trying to use to log in? Just type it on its own line, and the forum’s software will redact it so only the staff can see it.
Could it be that there’s a redirect in place and the email connected to the account is actually different than the one where you receive all the notifications?

Thanks.. very confused here!
I just managed to login using this email address:
(email visible only to moderators and staff)
I thought this account was closed, and had to use an email login link to get in because the password I have in my keychain no longer works…
So, logged into that account, if click on ‘My Sites’ the top of the left menu says ‘Loading My Sites’ with a flashing box, and never gets any further..

Hi,
I’m not seeing any sites associated with the WordPress.com user account (tommymartinphotography) you have logged in with. I suspect that is why the site list is not loading.
-
OK, so the account tommymartinphotography has no sites associated with it. My other account has been closed.
But I’m still getting endless messages from Jetpack Support to tell me that my non-existent site is offline/back online…
I’ve had 70 messages in the last 24 hours and I’d really like to find a way to make them stop!
Thanks

Sorry for the misunderstanding. This is the correct account :)
I have just disconnected tommymartin.me, but there are two other sites connected to this account: tommymartin.me/weddings and vertebrate.co.uk.
Do you need help removing those as well?Let me know.

Hey Fresatomica,
And the jetpack emails have stopped :) thank you so much.
Yes, please do remove the other two sites, neither of them are live any more..
Thanks for your help :)
