need to temporarily stop sending new post emails to subscribers

  We are moving a bunch of content over from another site onto this site to consolidate everything in one place. However, a lot of the content should be added as Posts, not pages. However, we don’t want to spam our subscriber list with emails from all of these new posts. We have tried backdating, we have tried making the blog private while we are posting (along with backdating), yet the posts keep getting sent out. Please tell me that there is a way to stop emailing these folks until we are done moving content!

  To clarify (I’m Jeff’s designer), I had the theory that making the blog private temporarily while posting these posts was going to stop the emailing. It didn’t.
