Need to upgrade domain, no settings options in dashboard

  • Unknown's avatar

I recently (today) went to my blog’s URL and was presented with an older version of the unpaid WP blog that I had prior to upgraded my domain and becoming self-hosted.

I have checked with my host, where I purchased the domain, and finally my e-mail. Low and behold, an e-mail from WordPress was buried in my spam folder, saying that my domain was expiring on May 17 2010

When I click on the link provided to upgrade, I am brought to my dashboard’s front page… I have no settings options to click on so that I can upgrade.

I need to upgrade this ASAP. How can I do this without that Settings options?

You could be viewing the global dashboard. If this is the case on the top gray navigation bar at the far left you will find “My Account” in the dropdown click “My Blogs” select the blog and you will then be in the blog Dashboard.

There in the left hand column find “Upgrades” and then click “Domains” and proceed to renew.

If this is not successful you will need Staff help http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/

Yep, I was in the global! I had to figure out the right account and password and was able to get in and renew! Fixed the problem!
