Need to use a sitename i deleted earlier this year.
-
I tried to create a site using a site name that was accidentally deleted earlier this year. I tried to recover it and am not able to do so. I know it still exists in the WordPress database because it will not allow me to recreate a site using that name. It and keep telling me that it already exists. Is there any way I can recover it to use again. Perhaps purchasing the ability to do so? I don’t want to reuse the site name for my client and I can prove the site name was originally used by me. I only want to create a new site using WordPress with that name.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The support docs are at http://support.wordpress.com
Deleted blog URLs are not recycled, regardless of who registered and deleted them and no exceptions are made.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/recycling-blog-names/You can register another .wordpress.com blog http://en.support.wordpress.com/register-a-blog/
Then if you wish to you can register a domain via a domain mapping upgrade because it does not matter what the underlying .wordpress.com address is when you are domain mapping.

http://deason2504.wordpress.com is no longer available.
The authors have deleted this site. -
Ok, I believe you are telling me that if I name the site for example “WORD” it does not matter when I map it . The site name that appears in the browser will be the domain name that I have registered, not the name I created for the site.
Thank you for your prompt reply. Never expected to get an answer so quickly. I Love WordPress. -
yes. It does not matter what any underlying .wordpress.com blog URL is when you are mapping from it to your own custom domain URL.
In order to map to a domain one must have an underlying .wordpress.com subdomain blog to map from, and the domain name you desire must be available for purchase, or you must already own the domain URL.
You must be logged in as Admin http://en.support.wordpress.com/user-roles/#administrator under the exact same username account that registered the blog to access the blog’s dashboard at > Store > My Upgrades to purchase upgrades for the blog.
See here if you do not own a domain http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/
See here for mapping an existing domain that you already own http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
After you do the primary blog set up it can take between 24 – 72 hours for domain name propagation to take place throughout the internet. You can view the DNS changes here > http://www.whatsmydns.net/ What’s important during that stage is to be patient.
A self-hosted WordPress site might be right for you. WordPress.org offers free software that you can install on a web server. You can upload and install themes and plugins, run ads, conduct ecommerce and edit the database. Learn about the differences here. http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
