need to verify my domain for Zoho email address

  I don’t have a web host; I do the maintenance and upkeep of my site myself. Now I want to create an email address with my domain through Zoho, but I can’t figure out how to verify my domain for Zoho so I can use it. The directions they give include creating a C-Name, but I don’t see an edit button on My Domain so I can follow the Zoho directions for verifying by creating a C-name. Anybody else know how to do this?

  Hi Judy,

  This shouldn’t be a problem! You can create a CNAME by logging in to your Dashboard and then navigating to Store >> My Domains >> Edit Domain >> Edit DNS. On this page you can change the drop down to CNAME and add whatever information Zoho has provided you.

  Hi Amig

  So being kind of new to WordPress, I am not seeing where I can edit the My Domains. I only see a primary Domain that never expires and a button to update which does not work.
  Am I in the wrong sphere ?

  Hello @shai,

  It doesn’t appear that you have a domain associated with your account quite yet. In order for you to set up email, you have to have either mapped or registered a domain at WordPress.com. You can do so by logging in to WordPress.com and then going to https://wordpress.com/domains/ .

  Once you have your domain added, you should be able to continue as expected!

  Hi Amightywp,

  I got as far as MPC2015 above, but it is trying to map to an old wordpress.com blog that I had before. I already have my wordpress.org site hosted through hostgator so I dont know why I would need to pay again. Is that asking for hosting? Can you help me out?

  This is a forum for WordPress.com sites. If you have a site through HostGator, then you will need to get some help from the self-hosted WordPress.org forums:

  http://wordpress.org/support/

  or else from the HostGator support folks. Sorry I’m not able to assist!
