Need transfer code for domain

    You have canceled that domain and received a refund for the registration fee. It is no longer available to transfer anywhere.

    We can try to reclaim the domain for you to repurchase. But if you do not wish to do that, or we are unable to recover it, you will need to wait for the domain to be available to be registered again in the future. This can take some time and there is no guarantee that someone else won’t grab it before you are able.

    Oh long will it take for the domain to be available for grabbing?

    In this case the registry will release the domain again in a few more days, and you should be able to register it as a new domain, directly with the provider where you want to use it by the middle of next week. While there is a risk that someone else might buy it if you decide to wait, that risk is very small with a brand new domain like this.

    We can also still restore it for you, but you won’t be able to transfer it away from us until you’ve owned it for at least 60 days. If you prefer this option, we can send you a link to pay for the domain again.

    So it’s been a little over week now on the domain. Any reason why a domain would take longer than usually to release?

  • Hi, our apologies. We’d missed that this was a domain transfer rather than a new domain, which changes timelines quite a bit. You were refunded for the domain, so we will send an invoice for the domain cost and work on getting it restored.

    Then, while you won’t be able to transfer it for a bit, you can certainly point it to another host as needed, and transfer when the 60-day ICANN-imposed transfer lock is over.

    We’re sending the invoice now. Please let us know when that’s taken care of. Once the domain is in your account, you can point it elsewhere as you like.
