Need WP template, directory listings with filters

I’m a marketer without WP experience, though I am generally comfortable with using website templates. Content and usability are my strengths; no coding for me! I need to set up a website and am finding the enormity of information available about WP to be overwhelming! I’m looking for a template designed more or less as a directory that allows filters by criteria. Anyone know of one OR have direction on what template descriptions to use when searching?

Again, if you are not clear on the differences between standalone WordPress and hosted WordPress.com (where we are), you’ll want to read the Support doc I linked to in my earlier reply.
WordPress.com websites can use categories and tags to filter their onsite content and a Custom menu to aid in the display of that content

We cannot install 3rd party plugins on WordPress.com sites

To me it sounds like perhaps the standalone WordPress software may be a better fit for you. If that is the case, you’ll want to head over to https://wordpress.org/support for further help.
